West of Baltimore Block of the Month - MACHINE APPLIQUE
Nancy is bringing the West of Baltimore Quilt designed by Annie Smith (Featured in the International Quilt Festival in 2021 in Houston, Texas) to life in this MACHINE APPLIQUE Block-of-the Month!!
This will be a fast-paced class, meeting every three weeks, with a few exceptions which allow students to catch up if they have fallen behind on the homework. Each month, students will receive fabric kits, pattern, and instruction for one meeting fee of $50. Class runs from January 2022 to October 2022.
The method recommended by the pattern is raw-edge fusible machine applique, but other methods will be reviewed during the course of the BOM. At the conclusion of this remarkable Block of the Month, students will have an heirloom quality pieced quilt top measuring 82" x 82" with either a black or Ivory background. The quilt is inspired by the traditional Baltimore Applique quilts of the 19th Century, designed and created by Ladies of Leisure prior to the American Civil War.
